Release Notes

My Busy Day was inspired by my decision to relocate from northern Illinois to southwestern Florida a couple of years ago. Being born and raised in the midwest, it was a major change in lifestyle for me. The southwestern Florida sun shines nearly every day. And life is not in a hurry.

That being said, rainy season brings us a daily shower late every afternoon in the summer months, which is to be expected in a tropical climate. Sometimes that hour or so of rain, feels like forever until the sun comes back. But nearly every evening it clears off and we enjoy the most beautiful sunset on Earth.

I guess you could say My Busy Day is somewhat autobiographical. Which may have been evident from the cover art. By the way, busy is a relative term. I believe busy means, whatever occupies your time. You can probably guess how I pass the time.

I invite you to grab your favorite music making device, dial up My Busy Day, and give it a listen.

Lyrics

My Busy Day

I open my eyes to a sky that is smiling, my ears filled with singing of birds
Flowers perfuming the breeze at my window, green tea wakes my conscious to Mother Earth
I ponder the moment and dream for a minute, I’m carried away by the song
Off in the distance a rumble of thunder, a storm may be heading my way

Forever rain, a storm is comin’ in
The sky is growin’ dim, and the fog’s rollin’ in
I’m findin’ my way in the forever rain

Keeping my head up, at peace with the world, I go on about my busy day
Recording my life’s work, a tattered old notebook, it’s passages render my way
I look for a reason, a thought for the season, some guiding new brilliance to write
Echoes of thunder again in the distance, confirm there’s a storm within sight

Forever rain, a storm is comin’ in
The sky is growin’ dim, and the fog’s rollin’ in
I’m findin’ my way in the forever rain
