Release Notes

Here's a fun little tune inspired by all of those "flash-in-the-pan", "one-hit-wonders" out there. Does Mimes On Rollercoasters qualify for either category? Hardly. But it's still a topic that's fun to write, and dream about.

Few out there realize that even the "flash-in-the-pan", "one-hit-wonders" have spent long hard months and usually years, struggling to write and perfect their music. All to achieve some level of notoriety with their listeners. Music does not just happen the moment the audience hears it. Music is a feeling that the composer works very hard to convey through some form of audio, so somebody else can enjoy that same feeling. Music is an experience.

There are literally millions, if not billions of songs/tunes/works of music out there, just waiting for a listener. And there are literally billions of listeners out there waiting for the right song, to stir an emotion. Fortunately, we live in a time where we all have access to nearly every piece of music ever recorded, at the touch of a screen on that little glowing brick in everyone's pocket. Let's not waste that opportunity. Listen to as many works as possible. Have the experiences of a lifetime, during your lifetime.

Lyrics

Gold And Diamond Rings

Four private jets, stretch limousines, posh dressing rooms; that we’ll never see
Back entrances; social media, our own private chef; we get it all for free

Watch our show, hear us sing.  We’ve got gold, and diamond rings.
Enjoy us now, because we won’t last.  Stay behind the safety glass.

Now the label says; lets ramp it up, another mega-hit; money pouring in
And the fans are good, but the critics suck, now we only book, giant, packed stadiums

Watch our show, hear us sing.  We’ve got gold, and diamond rings.
Enjoy us now, because we won’t last.  Stay behind the safety glass.

Late night rehearsals, and months out on the road. Young dressing room dancers, become ever so bold.
Missing the silence, that sound in between words. Fame should never be measured, by the dollars that you’re worth.

Watch our show, hear us sing.  We’ve got gold, and diamond rings.
Enjoy us now, because we won’t last.  Stay behind the safety glass.

Watch our show, hear us sing.  We’ve got gold, and diamond rings.
Enjoy us now, because we won’t last.  Stay behind the safety glass.
